Briana Zonas' artistic talents have encompassed a diversity of media from painting, screen printing to photography. She has traveled extensively and has lived abroad for a large part of her life. Her earlier artistic studies took her to the main metropolises of Paris, London, New York, Athens and Hong Kong. Places of study include such prestigious institutions as Parson School of Design (New York and Paris), F.I.T., London College of Printing & Distributive Trades. This rich background well prepared her for a current career in rug design. As an artist, Briana’s learning experience never ends, as life always provides fresh and exciting influences from which to add to the many layers of personal and professional expression.
After nearly a decade in the industry, Mrs. Zonas founded Zonas Creative Carpet Ltd. in 2002. Previously she was employed by such distinguished firms as Odegard Inc. and Bashian Rugs for designing and heading numerous custom rug projects.
Briana’s vast experience and knowledge in designing rugs blends her knowledge of fine art, aesthetics and the traditional craftsmanship of many world regions such as Nepal, India and China. Favored by architects and designers for projects nationwide, her pieces add drama, warmth and harmony to distinguished interiors. Inspired by numerous sources from ancient textiles to twentieth-century sculpture, Briana Zonas’ custom rugs reflect her distinctly modern approach to timeless themes.
