Briana Zonas' artist talent has led her to a career that has encompassed a diversity of media from painting, screen printing to photography. She has traveled extensively and has lived abroad for a large part of her life. Studying art in main metropolises such as Paris, London, New York, Athens and Hong Kong.
"My travels have given me the opportunity to experience diverse cultures and the visual expression of those cultures, it has exposed me to a tremendous amount of visual information from which to draw upon."
Mrs. Zonas founded Zonas Creative Carpet Ltd. in 2002 after being employed by Odegard Inc. and Bashian Rugs for designing rugs and heading numerous custom rug projects, for nearly a decade.
"It's wonderful to be so involved in the ancient art of weaving, which has been handed down over hundreds of years. I feel passionate about the creation of such visual and useful beauty."
Briana Zonas' work has been displayed in shows and galleries and her rugs are often found in the editorial pages of magazines such as; Interior Design, Met Home, Area, Rug News, Accessory Merchandising and HFN. She has designed rugs from traditional to ultra-contemporary in style. This versatile designer has vast experience and knowledge in designing rugs handcrafted in Nepal, India and China using a variety of weaving techniques.
